Pretty sobering listening to George Baker on ITV Racing.... had to learn how to walk again after his accident... always said by a country mile one of the most dangerous professions there is out there... good luck to george... always liked watching him in action

The Champions was the nearest I ever came to tears watching a film. Those bald kids ahouting come on Bob at the telly during the race was the moment.

I suppose Steve Cauthen earns a mention, the only jockey to win the Kentucky and Epsom derby

There are too many for me to single out favourite but the most emotional I have ever got was when Aldaniti and Bob Champion won the National in 1981. I saw a programme on sky about it recently and it made me cry then. Fantastic sometimes when things like that happen.

Jumps would be Tony McCoy, Piggott just shading Eddery on the flat.

The Dawn Run Gold Cup was a very special race; right up there among anyone's favourites, albeit rough on Wayward Lad.

FC - Nijinsky was tremendous, no doubt about it. I personally think DB would have beat him other than above a mile and a half but who knows? At that level it's really hard to say.

Re: Your favourite race horse of all time?
Sold, this is what Piggott said about Nijinsky.

Vincent O'Brien named Nijinsky and Sir Ivor as the best horses he had trained, placing Nijinsky first "for brilliance."[27] Lester Piggott concurs saying ""I think Nijinsky probably on his day was the most brilliant horse I've ever ridden"[28].

Terrific little horse Wayward Lad. Always a great contrast with the style of Burrough Hill Lad who was such an immense powerhouse of a horse.
